Kieran's Toybox

This is a toy box that made with my grandfather for my nephew, Kieran. The design of the shape of the box was based on a toy box my uncle had when he was a kid. The dimensions are the same but his had paintings of cowboys on it. When testing how I would combine stained and unstained parts of the wood, I discovered gel stain. This is a type of stain that is thicker and has much less bleeding. The first test I did was with a liquid stain that is the common stain for furniture. However it bled into the masking tape stencil and over the image. The steps are more clear through looking at the pictures, which I will post within the next couple days.
